Floriade 2006

September30

To start off with, i was meant to help out early this morning at sheetle’s place for some AGM thing. however, work culminated in me being overly tired, and then i overslept by 15 mins and etc. by the time i reached civic, it seemed i have missed the bus for the next 2 hours or something. i am not quite sure how that works out, when everyone told me all the buses at platform 8 goes to fenner, but the bus driver told me none of the 30s buses there do. whatever. Sheetle decided that maybe i will just go back to the original plan of only helping at night after all ^_^ that’s fine… but i have nothing to do for 6 hours then, in civic!

i did myself a favour and caught a bus to floriade instead. and wow… was i over-awed.

flower cow

and there, i figured out i shouldn’t be too ashamed of my poor compact camera. initially, i was stupefied. every grandma, uncle, auntie, ah soh, ah pek, whatever, has got a damn SLR camera. in my shame, i hid my poor camera into my pockets, pretending i was just taking a walk. but then… when i saw what laid infront of me, i just cave in… i will just let the pictures talk here since i forgot almost all the names of the flowers anyways…

Tulips for spring

The Speck of Blood

Another tulip in bloom ^^

There were some interesting bits as well. they have this fun thing running around called the Feet Bus. it’s really cardboard pieces stuck together, and 4 people manning the corners of it. throughout the “journey” they had have “wheels” (the corners) being tired and “flat out” and needed people to “blow them” back up (sounds wrong on many levels :P )

The Feet bus

Then they did an about turn as a grand finale. at this point, my camera did something weird. it insisted there’s no more memory, but there still was. so i ended up just being able to capture the final bits of the about turn (i deleted my video editing program, so i can’t combine them together :x)

Walking by another dark corner, i found a cute busker doing his job. he was in your face, very bogan, but making sure that things went uninterrupted for everyone. he grabbed someone’s mobile and told his mum to call back later (lol!!!) and when people didn’t even thank him at least, and walked off, he shouted behind them saying they were rude. god, if only i can do that at work.

of course, the grandest thing about his entire act, wasn’t his tricks alone. but also his CLOTHES. or lack thereof.

A L33t Busker

and then the pants fell off

because, you know, i had like a man in tights/hot plastic pants, whip and hairy chest any time - so i can wax a damn smiley face on him HAH!

damn i still love those hot pants.

And here’s what he did for a stunt ^_^

I went home after that. it got too hot for my liking, and i am not a morning person and the sun hurts my eyes. so whatever, homebound i came. i am still suffering from the after effects of Flavours of India… but we will talk about that later ^_^

GO TO THE DAMN FLORIADE ALREADY PEOPLE!!! IT’S GREAT! coz i say so…

Some links to read at….

September30

Ok, i been meaning to post this for 3 days now… and before i shut down my computer for this weekend or something, this had better be up… just coz i think everyone should read these…

  • Online porn doesn’t increase sex crimes - personally, regardless of this little article (not exactly funny yet), i don’t think porn does lead to sex crimes anyways. everyone has their ways of handling sexual frustrations, and some people just decided that it’s ok to take it out on other people -but that’s just me.
  • Why muscular people will never impress me - ok i know muscular doesn’t necessarily mean that they have high testosterones, at the same time though, i know some people who had take steroids to help along their “progress”. besides, i haven’t yet seen a smart big guy, or smart footballer. infact, they annoy me so very much at work, i try to avoid sundays when they have higher tendencies to appear for celebrations or something.
  • Chinese Corruption Scandal - to be honest, i don’t even know what people are so surprised about, or found it so scandalous about. not to be biased, but such things are rampant through out certain asian countries. some are better at hiding it, some aren’t. and china’s one of those that’s pretty obvious, at least to me. sorry to all my dear chinese friends out there heh.
  • An anime lover’s wish list - Ecchi anyone? :p (or well, not really, but looking at all the “girls” involved….)
  • What Lilta should consider having - lol~ and i like the first comment
  • A black belt in marriage - i have to applaud the japs for this. while men elsewhere can sometimes easily express their feelings anyways, it’s hard to know if they actually put any feelings into it at times. we don’t need hints, sometimes we don’t get hints either. if ur guna say something, or feel something, why don’t you just say it, rather than wait for us? ^^
  • It’s all rabu-rabu - a news article about a blog. no one knows if it’s real, or just a made up story as it seems too good to be true. but eh, we can all believe sometimes… that love can cause someone to change their gender just to satisfy their partners. the only problem - what if she ever change her mind?

that’s it folks! ^_^ off for the day at least

Chicken Briyani

sigh. chicken briyani… this reminds me of the days when i was working in the call center of Aviva Insurance, or rather, when i was under training. Norjit and i had go to this nice mamak shop, which makes huge ass plates of briyani, and attempt to scoff down the giant plate. Briyani is like spicy fried rice. if i am not wrong, it’s cocnut rice, dumped with some other spices. this one has coriander leaves, some tumeric i believe, chilli, those curry leaves i forgot what’s it called, and some other obvious ingredients.

this reminds me though, i haven’t really cooked for a while now, ever since the rampage of assignments. will get around to it at some point rather than sustain myself on instant noodles.

yesterday was sheetle’s shout, we went to flavours of india after our respective classes –> although i was kinda late for various reasons :p

we also had lamb rogan josh - which reminds me of lamb rendang really, just more… spicy? ^^

Lamb Rogan Josh

simply put, it’s like lamb curry, sans all the watery-ness. ^^

god i miss singapore, it’s cheap food, and the varieties!
