Richard's bitch!

wow. 2 weeks flew by just like that. I mean, I seriously intended to update people with a bunch of things – but it didn’t happen because first I was slacking off, then I just couldn’t be bothered, then sheetle arrived… omg LOL! Let’s see…

- Friday's bento

Cooking intentions became a big fail. I was so lazy for the first 3 days of my break, all I did was dream about making tamagoyaki *ahem* and then ended up being able to make it properly thanks to my dreams HARHARHARHAR!!!

I was right to say that the problem was with my pan, it was non non-stick, and was just a tad too thin, so it overheated too quickly causing my eggs to die just a little too quickly.

Other than that, after Sheetle dropped in and visited for a few days, it was mostly EAT OUT DAYS!!! so, pointless trying to cook since, ahem, my cooking can be quite unimpressive HAHAHA!

talking about Sheetle ham-saping food here…. Well well!!!!! I took leave because woman was finally coming home after being away for 3 years. On the one hand, my wrist was such a bitch I ended up missing out a day and abit of being with her. On the other hand, she herself was only here for like, what, 6 days? 5? It was such a short time frame that we couldn’t plan anything properly – since it was also long weekend, very few things were open :(

However, the catching up was wonderful, the food was… exquisite HAHAHA!! oh my god, it was such a terrible few days worth of decadence, eating out everyday and what not. AND THE SINGLISH!! I HAVE NOT SPROUTED SO MUCH SINGLISH IN THE SPACE OF A WEEK OK!?!?!?!

Don’t allow another 3 years to pass before I see you again, you crazy woman. although, do take some time before you come back again… I need to build up leave again HAHAHAHA!

*ahem* Also, I forgot how fun it was to constantly talk crazy talk, the… from 10th floor drop to 7th floor HAHAHAHAHAHA and and and… CONCAVE AIRPORTS!

*dies*

- enough in jokes, here’s some other self related updates – my wrist. One of the reasons why my wrist was giving me the shits when sheetle was here was because I finally met the sports med doctor. A few has heard from the twitter but I will give the low down here:

After the nerve-conduction tests, it came back pretty inconclusive enough to also be conclusive enough to suggest that it wasn’t nerve damage but something else that jarred the nerves. The sports med doctor I met has had a few years experience (specifically, Dr. Wilson Lo of Canberra Raiders’ fame). After listening to my results from various places (since I forgot all relevant documentations), he pressed a few places to determine how raw they felt before…

taking my wrist… “sorry”

and twisted it!!!!!!

Every time I think about it, my wrist shrivels up and I have a murderous look in my eyes. look, I am utterly grateful to him that he finally concluded the problem to this whole crazy saga. but dear god, couldn’t he have done it with less pain ~.~ I completely forgive him, and know he had to do it, but my body has this stronge urge to go WTF REVENGE PAIN PLX!!

lol. I think there’s still revenge coursing through my eyes sometimes hahaha!

anyways, according to him I “broke” my cartilage (some people have called it a tear. personally, I prefer broke). The fastest, easiest way to help it heal is to throw in cortisone injection, wear my current splint for the next 3 months and let it heal up.

I decided that, well, just about any problem I might be having is going to be solve my cortisone, whatever, just do it already. I wasn’t about to wait for another few months before I do some real work at work. so, after mentioning that it would most probably start hurting on Monday, I went ahead with the injection on that fateful friday.

And again, I was sorely disappointed. Within 30 mins of leaving the clinic, the cortisone injection came back and ate my wrist out :( It was also tiring to be in pain, for some reason. however, I was given the “go-ahead” to go back to real work once my leave ends. WOOT!

Of course, a few others and, sometimes, me, wasn’t quite expecting my whole arm to be this weak after the whole thing. I can barely push things over at times, even though it doesn’t hurt anymore. I take twice as long to do things that I used to do in a jifty. I guess I have to “re-learn” my skills and strengths now.

it’s still infinitely better than doing nothing

- I have been waiting for my letter from CIT to undergo my EN’s entrance interview. Unlike the full RNs, EN positions in tafes tend to be limited. my batch size (and most batch sizes anyways) is 25. to determine who gets in is done, lastly, via the interview.

In short, I got in :) Interview wasn’t quite what I expect :) so easy and just… well I guess maybe since she knew I am still in the job, there’s no point asking any further questions

and, in anticipation of the sheer amount of workload/reading load, I am now on the 3rd chapter of “fundamentals of nursing” LOL! ah, the singaporean in me…

- I have finished reading the Black Magician trilogy, by Trudi Canavan. I think, if you put aside the amount of time I spent having to work while I was reading them books, I pretty much stormed through the trilogy.

These are good books, ladies and gentleman, now go get it.

And let me grief over the loss of my favourite characters T_T

- a few years ago, I got myself my first USB headphones ever, by Plantronics for Counterstrike (yeah, go geek!). It was one of the best headphones I have ever owned at that point in time, sound-quality wise. Problem was, the materials that were used to make it were pretty shitty. One of the sounds on the side died out. So, with similar problems I bought 2 more, just without the CS design.

about 3 years ago, Plantronic headphone 3 dropped my head and rolled under my chair in my hurry, snapping the head band into 2. I taped it back up but 6 months later it fell apart. I never sought to replace it, considering that if I could put them together for abit, everything is more than fine.

Now, I decided it’s time to move on. broken headphones keep sliding over my face. I would love another Plantronics but they aren’t that easy to get, the USB ones anyways. So, I got Creative+Blizzard collaborated effort: the WoW headphones.

Yeah, I don’t play wow much anymore, if at all.

that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate it and it’s symbolism. the sound quality is brilliant too, and the idea of a detachable mic! :) so many would lose it I bet!

- Have been considering getting DSLRs since the price is plummeting a little for the 1000D. Now, tell me, what is the biggest difference between Micro 4 thirds and DSLR? and don’t just tell me it’s the aesthetics…

aight, this whole arm not having strength is draining me out.

good night.
