Three months

Three months

You know how people would say, time flies when you are enjoying yourself. And truly, time do fly when you are having the time of your life, be it days, months or even years. Who can forget those days when we wish classes would stop dragging out? how we make full use of our baby Gs right down to the last second before the bell would go off for recess/end of school?

One of my teachers famously told us, “come to school only to count down to recess!”

I have been in the nursing home for 3 months now, and I have to admit I learnt alot. It didn’t feel like 3 months, it felt more like a whole year or something. I refer to my earlier days as “a long time ago” the other day, which felt incredibly ironic considering I haven’t really been around for long.

These 3 months has stretched and fulfilled my life. I have met people I wouldn’t otherwise have met. I learnt bigger life lessons than I could possibly have on my own – living it vicariously through others who have endured it. I have shed tears for people whom I have no relations to, nor knew very well. I held the hands of a dying woman as if she was one of my own.

Funnier still, is how I am referring to these elderly as my “babies” on occassions.

I have never been happier or contented. I sure hope that wouldn’t change.

so here’s to me, and here’s to the end of probation period *clink* and really, it ended about 6 days ago, but I never noticed lol! and soon enough, I will be helping them train the new batch of trainees.

This week.

ACK!
